New parking laws unfair

Its not long now until the proposed new parking laws come into force, by the end of March these new laws will according to the consumer watchdog Which, make it very difficult for a motorist who has fallen fowl of these plans to appeal against a ticket, which they feel has been handed out unfairly. http://www.personallyyours.co.uk/blog/21022008.htm

However the idea behind these new rules is to make the whole system fairer to motorists, there will be a new system of fines which are supposed to lower where a vehicle is parked in a parking space but where their ticket has expired, but on the other hand there will be higher fines for anyone who happens to be seen parked where it is forbidden to do so.
The problem that is going to begin with these rules is the use of special cameras which will become available to councils and other authorities which will read the number plates of any vehicle that is seen to be parked illegally. This will mean that anyone seen stopped in a zone where parking is forbidden will receive a fine through the post as the system is linked to the DVLA where the vehicle owner's details are kept.

Many people will see this as another attempt to raise money in a similar manner to which the speed cameras have been used, this increase in Automatic Number Plate Recognition (APNR) means that soon any traffic violation no matter how trivial will end up with a fine through the post.
